Scoping Process

BLM conducted a public scoping process in the fall of 2003 to gather public input on the scope and issues to be addressed in the PEIS, and concerns and opinions on resources in the western United States that wind energy development might impact.

Approximately 5,000 people participated in the scoping process by attending public meetings, providing comments, requesting information, or visiting this Web site. All comments received equal consideration in developing the alternatives and analytical issues that are contained in this draft PEIS. The scoping summary report is available on this site.

For More Information

More information on the scoping process is available in the Summary of Public Scoping Comments for the Wind Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PDF, 97 KB).
